Buddy SportsHolly SpringsBuddy Sports is a program for special needs children ages 5-13 with varying levels of ability. Sports include: soccer, T-ball, basketball, gymnastics and tennis. Classes meet for an hour on Saturday mornings, usually at the W.E. Hunt Recreation Center.Fees are $20 for residents and $30 for nonresidents. Roles for volunteers of any age include assisting instructors or working with class participants. Contact Jon Allen at 919-567-4728.SoccerApex Coed AdultThis is a competitive adult soccer program for ages 25 and up. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons with the possibility of some Saturday afternoons as well. Eleven x 11 league play will start Sunday, Sept. 9 and will end mid-November. Registration begins Wednesday, Aug. 1 and ends Friday, Aug. 17. Registration is by teams only. Fees are $31 for each resident and $56 for each nonresident player. Teams will be coed and have a maximum of six players for the eight and under team and eight players for the 10 and under team. Ages determined as of Dec. 31. Matches will be played on Friday nights and practices will be held on Sunday afternoons. Practices start late August and matches conclude late October. Registration is open for residents and begins Monday, August 13 for nonresidents. Registration will be held at the Apex Community Center during normal business hours. Fees are $40 for residents and $55 for nonresidents. Players must be a current member of USTA. A league fee of $13.50 is paid online at USTA.com. For details, visit www.apexnc.org.
